Re: The Pitch at OS
Brady got asked this on Twitter a week or two ago and said it is the same width as the Boleyn but a few metres longer?

Re: The Pitch at OS
A team like City is much much better than us it is as simple as that. If you let them play they will destroy you. A big pitch allows them to do that. We really should be looking at this more as for me this is our biggest problem.

Re: The Pitch at OS
The pitch and the stadium. Listen to yourselves. The reason we are not playing well is because we have a shit side. We are at the level of the teams we have beaten recently Palace, Boro, Hull etc. We are light years away from Everton, never mind the ones above them. No pace, no inventiveness, no fight. When we beat Palace I dont remember anyone saying a thing about the size of the pitch or the atmosphee in the stadium. Stop trying to look for excuses. The team is shit, end of

at least we were the 4th highest spenders. some people are never happy!

Re: The Pitch at OS
I think it is the main reason we look so poor against the good teams.

Question.

Can you change the size of the pitch for different games? If so, we should seriously look at doing this as we simply could not cope with their movement.

Johnson

Absolutely agree, playing at the os must be least intimidating ground in the league, their players cant feel the pressure of the crown and ours can fucking hide!

its shite and we learly moved cor non football reasons, no cunt in their right mind would chose that shithole unless they were making a fortune from it. Fucking cunts

Re: The Pitch at OS
Pitches are standardising so I think most pitches are now the same size as ours.

They don't have another couple of acres of space around it though, which is the real problem here.

The pitch is the latest in a list of things people mention to avoid talking about the actual stadium.

Re: The Pitch at OS
Fuck me we're far enough away from the pitch already!!! Learn to play on it you cunts

Re: The Pitch at OS
Here's an idea , why don't they become handy at playing on a bigger pitch then all the small pitch posse will be fucked when the come and take on big pitch boys

JustAFatKevinDavies 9:56 Thu Feb 2
Re: The Pitch at OS
the soulless pile of shit around it is a bigger problem than the pitch itself

to where?

Just get the players to where bigger boots.

Re: The Pitch at OS
I'd imagine most teams look at coming to us now as a neutral venue, rather than them playing away. loads of man city shirts dotted around the home areas last night.

motley crue 9:42 Thu Feb 2
Re: The Pitch at OS
I doubt we'll ever have much of a home advantage there either, even if whole stadium sung, all the stands are too far from the pitch, it'll never be intimidating place for the opposition.

harold 9:37 Thu Feb 2
Re: The Pitch at OS
UP pitch was 100.58m x 68m. The 'standard ' pitch is 105 x 68.

costahammer 9:33 Thu Feb 2
Re: The Pitch at OS
same width as Palace and we did ok on that one

jack flash 9:30 Thu Feb 2
Re: The Pitch at OS
Seems a pretty feeble excuse to me. If other side's can play on it then so should we
We have conceded the midfield, looking totally overrun since halfway through last season
Either the players are too slow, not fit enough, not eager enough or the tactics are wrong (or a combination of all these things)
We seem incapable of pressing further up the pitch in the way BFS had us doing (with worse players!)
But worst of all we don't seem to be able to string more than a couple of passes together without giving the ball away cheaply
That isn't acceptable at any level in the professional game & it's largely down to poor training/coaching

hornchurchsteve 9:00 Thu Feb 2
Re: The Pitch at OS
Slow players. No pace or simply not good enough. That's why we are looking shit.

kirok1 8:40 Thu Feb 2
Re: The Pitch at OS
We aren't fit enough and have technique that beggars belief. Address this before we blame the sodding pitch.

jfk 3:37 Thu Feb 2
Re: The Pitch at OS
The OS pitch is too big now??
I don't buy that for a minute,if you even a pitch out from the centre circle by width and breadth it makes very little difference.
I know and understand the players are miles fitter now ,but a few feet here and there shouldn't make any warrented excuses.
You'll never hear a manager winning away from home moaning about a pitch being the wrong size.
Load of bollocks!
